Why use SLC’s Practice IELTS Tests?

SLC IELTS practice tests replicate a full IELTS test and accurately assess a candidate’s score as if they were to sit an actual test.
Getting candidate scores allow organisations to

  • Accurately predict the scores they will achieve in an official Test
  • See where candidates’ strengths and weaknesses are.
  • Create study programmes so candidates can achieve the scores they need.

Taking the IELTS test

The Practice IELTS Test consists of four parts, Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. The Reading, Listening and Writing papers are taken online. Reading and Listening are machine-marked, while the Writing is marked by a trained IELTS specialist. The Speaking test is conducted online in real time, also with an IELTS expert, taking 10-15 minutes to do.

What the results show

Each paper is given an IELTS score between 1 and 9, using IELTS marking criteria, along with an overall score. This gives an accurate measurement of your level. All marking takes place within five working days of submission (Writing) or interview (Speaking).

SLC Practice IELTS tests have been used widely by employers. They enable organisations to understand how much training is required for candidates to achieve the scores they need and what kind of preparation course would suit them best. All at a fraction of the price of an official test.

Organisational testing platforms and support

Any employer using SLC’s tests and courses receives their own platform design, with logos, colours and imagery.

SLC provides training and technical support, so organisations and their candidates are supported throughout.

IELTS preparation

SLC provides multiple IELTS training courses which can be combined with testing. These range from short self-study courses to intensive group training.
