This English for Nurses course teaches you the English you need to study and work in an English-speaking healthcare environment, attend presentations, conferences and seminars given in English, and keep up with nursing journals and research written in English.
Set at a B1-B2 level of English (intermediate), English for Nurses covers multiple areas of care common to nursing – from patient admission, to discussing pain, pressure area care, falls and injuries, IV therapy, infection control, breathing difficulties, administering medications, diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, mental health, surgery and end-of-life care.
The course consists of 120 hours of specialist English language and communication skills content, divided into 13 units. You can study the whole course, or just the sections most relevant to you.
During the course, you study all aspects of nursing English, including patient communication, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. There is a very wide range of activities, including interactive recording where you record and listen to yourself in conversation with a patient.
You can take this course on PC, tablet and phone, and download it so you can study offline. By subscribing, you can study what you want, whenever you want and for as long as suits you.
The course is designed for nurses and nursing students. It is not a general English or even a general healthcare English course.
