This short digital course supports international AHPs settle successfully into life and work in the UK.

It targets their cultural, professional and linguistic needs, with focus units on UK life, culture and language, the NMC and HCPC, and essential communication skills when working with patients.

The course can be taken as standalone digital study or combined with group sessions with an experienced language and communications skills tutor. They work with learners to address their specific needs, give targeted input and feedback, and build their confidence. 

The course is optimised for all devices, including phones. It is media-rich with video, audio, voice-recording and interactive tasks throughout. There are PDFs to download and keep.

The course was developed in partnership with experts at the AHP Faculty at Herts and West Essex NHS Integrated Care System (ICS), ensuring the content is relevant, accurate and up-to-date.

The tutored sessions were developed in partnership with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

About the course

The course should take 15 hours to complete.

The course is accredited by the CPD Standards office in the UK. All learners receive a CPD certificate on course completion.

The course is online. Learners receive a code to access the course on the online learning platform. They can also study on their phone using the course app. Group sessions take place on Zoom.
