  1. What English level do I need to take an SLC course?

Our courses vary in levels, you are able to see what level each course requires on the relevant webpage above the video.

If you are unsure of your current English level, you can take our free online level test by clicking here. Or if you’re not sure contact one of our friendly experts to get their advice at enquiries@specialistlanguagecourses.com.

 

  1. How do I enrol in a SLC course?

There is no enrolment involved, all you need to do is purchase your course of choice from our website. Just go the relevant webpage, scroll to the bottom, make your choices and click ‘Add to Basket’ Then just click on the Trolley icon at the top of your screen when you are ready and follow the instructions. If you have any issues in making your payment or deciding which course would be best for you, please do not hesitate to contact us at admin@specialistlanguagecourses.com

 

  1. How do I redeem my code?

Step 1: To redeem your code, visit https://slc-campus.avallainmagnet.com/slc

Step 2:  If this is the first time you are studying with SLC, click on Register. If you have studied with us before, click on Log in.

Step 3:  Enter your code and click on the NEXT button.

Step 4: Create an account by entering your details.

Step 5: You will receive an email to ‘Confirm your course registration’ .Please follow the instructions to activate your account. If you do not receive it in a few minutes, check your junk inbox.

Step 6: Once you have activated your account, the link in the email will take you to the home page where you will find the product that you bought.

 

  1. The Next button isn’t working when entering my unique code

If the NEXT button does not light up when you paste the code from the email, delete the last letter of the code and retype it.

 

  1. I didn’t receive my activation email

If you haven’t received your activation email after setting up your account please make sure to check your spam/junk inbox. If you do not find it in your spam/junk inbox please contact admin@specialistlanguagecourses.com.

 

  1. I can’t log in

If you’re having problems logging back into your account please make sure of the following:

-You have the correct username and it is spelt correctly – Please note your username is case sensitive

-You have the correct password and it is spelt correctly

-We recommend using Chrome as your browser

-Clear your cache and cookies

-You are using a laptop or PC

-You have successfully set up an account

  1. I’ve forgotten my password

If you have forgotten your password just click on the ‘Forgotten Password’ button on the log in page:

And follow the instructions.

 

  1. I’ve logged in but I can’t see my course

There could be several reasons you are unable to see your course. If you have only recently set up your account make sure you have redeemed your code correctly.

If you have been studying for some time it may be due to your access expiring. If this is the case we can extend your course access for a fee of £15 per 1 month extension. If you would like to extend your access or if your access should not have expired, please contact admin@specialistlanguagecourses.com.

 

  1. The videos are not working

If you are unable to watch the videos in your course please make sure of the following:

-We recommend using Chrome as your browser

-Clear your cache and cookies

-You are using a laptop or PC not a mobile phone

-Your PC or laptop are fully up to date

-Try an incognito window

 

If the above does not work please contact us at admin@specialistlanguagecourses.com. Please include as much detail as possible. Including screenshots will help.

 

  1. I can’t hear the audio

If you are unable to hear the audio in your course please make sure of the following:

-We recommend using Chrome as your browser

-Clear your cache and cookies

-You are using a laptop or PC not a mobile phone

-Your PC or laptop are fully up to date

-Try an incognito window

  1. Can I extend my course?

Yes, we can extend your course for a fee of £15 per extra month of access

 

  1. Do I get a Certificate?

Yes, you will receive your Certificate of Achievement after completing the course with an overall score of 80% or more. The Certificate will show your name, a description of the course content and English level, and the CPD points you have achieved if applicable. To request a certificate send us an email to medical@specialistlanguagecourses.com

Is my course CPD Accredited? Some of our courses are CPD Accredited. Current accredited courses are:

  • English for Doctors – 80 CPD Points
  • English for Nurses – 80 CPD Points
  • Medical Terminology – 24 CPD Points
  • English for Care – 48 CPD Points
  • English for Pharmacy – 18 CPD Points

 

  1. What should I do if I have a complaint?

If you feel you have a genuine reason for complaint, you should inform SLC as soon as possible. We respond to all reasonable complaints and we do all we can to resolve any problems. We will not, unfortunately, be able to respond to complaints made after you have finished the course. Our email is admin@specialistlanguagecourses.com,  and our phone number is +44 1273 900213.
