The OET Speaking test is tough.
Two 5-minute role plays with only three minutes to prepare for them. The good thing is that they are profession specific. The bad thing is that you need to perform well in all nine marking criteria. This OET Speaking course will help you.
There are four linguistic criteria which focus on the language you use, so tone, clarity, choice of vocabulary and grammar and so on. And there are five clinical communication criteria which focus on how you communicate with the listener, including how you gather information, display empathy, structure the conversation, and check you have been understood.
If you’re aiming for a B grade, you need to score mostly 5 out of 6 on the linguistic criteria and 2 out of 3 in the clinical communication criteria.
SLC’s OET Speaking preparation course, taken from our hugely popular Reach OET B course, prepares you to achieve a high score. You understand exactly what you need to do in the test through a combination of carefully structured language and test-based tasks, video tips and lesson recordings. You analyse test questions, record and download your answers.
Want to work with a Speaking expert? You can book 5 one-to-one lessons with an experienced OET teacher who will give you targeted feedback and suggestions for improvement so you can maximise your score.
