In the OET Writing test you have 45 minutes to read through a set of case notes and write a letter, typically a referral letter. The letter is profession-specific, needs to include the information relevant to the task and be written clearly, appropriately and accurately. Our course will help you do exactly that.
There are six criteria you need to think about when writing the letter: a clear expression of purpose, the inclusion of relevant content, concise and clear writing, the correct tone and style, the organisation and layout, and the language you use, including grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation.
To get a B grade, you need to score mostly 2 out of 3 for Purpose and 5 out of 7 for the remaining criteria.
SLC’s OET Writing course, taken from our hugely popular Reach OET B course, prepares you to achieve a high score. You work on a combination of carefully structured language and test-based tasks, video tips and lesson recordings. You analyse test questions and write your own letters which you can compare with a model answer or download and share with a teacher.
Want to work with a Writing expert? You can book 5 one-to-one lessons with an experienced OET teacher who will give you targeted feedback and suggestions for improvement so you can maximise your score.
